A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 5822 AS INTRODUCED 5-5-98


Public Act 51 of 1951, the Michigan Transportation Fund act, specifies the formula for distributing transportation funds among state transportation department spending for roads, bridges, economic development, rail transportation, and the like, and local governments for use on local roads. The current formula is set to expire on September 30, 1998.


House Bill 5822 would amend the act to extend the current formula for one year, until September 30, 1999.
