CONTENT
The bill would amend the Youth Tobacco Act to give the district court concurrent jurisdiction over cases in which a minor possessed or smoked cigarettes or cigars; possessed, chewed, sucked, or inhaled chewing tobacco or tobacco snuff; or possessed or used tobacco in any form, on a public highway, street, alley, park, or other land used for public purposes, or in a public place of business or amusement. (Under current law, the family division of circuit court has exclusive jurisdiction over cases involving juveniles.)
The bill is tie-barred to Senate Bills 537 and 539.
