        A bill to amend 1991 PA 179, entitled

   "Michigan telecommunications act,"

   by amending section 211 (MCL 484.2211).

               THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 1         Sec. 211.  Each telecommunication provider of a regulated

 2    service in this state shall pay an assessment in an amount equal

 3    to the expenses of the commission  pursuant to Act No. 299 of the

 4     Public Acts of 1972, being sections 460.111 to 460.120 of the

 5     Michigan Compiled Laws  UNDER PART 23 OF THE MICHIGAN UTILITY

 6    CODE, MCL 460.2301 TO 460.2308.

 7         Enacting section 1.  This amendatory act does not take

 8    effect unless Senate Bill No. _____ or House Bill No. _____

 9    (request no. 00135'97) of the 89th Legislature is enacted into

10    law.
