        A bill to require the department of civil rights to compile

   certain information and produce for the general public a report

   containing that information.

               THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 1         Sec. 1.  The department of civil rights shall compile infor-

 2    mation relating to economic, education, health, and employment

 3    disparities among races in this state.  Within 1 year after the

 4    effective date of this act, the department of civil rights shall

 5    prepare a report on the information compiled under this section

 6    and make that report available to members of the general public.
