A bill to amend 1994 PA 451, entitled "Natural resources and environmental protection act," by amending sections 43510 and 43513 (MCL 324.43510 and 324.43513), as amended by 1996 PA 585; and to repeal acts and parts of acts. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT: 1 Sec. 43510. A person shall not carryor transporta fire- 2 arm,OR CARRY OR TRANSPORT A slingshot, bow and arrow, cross- 3 bow, or a trap while in any area frequented by wild animals 4 unless that person has in his or her possession a license as 5 required under this part. 6 Sec. 43513. (1)ASUBJECT TO SUBSECTION (3), A person may 7 CARRY OR POSSESS A FIREARM OR carry, transport, or possessa8firearm,a bow and arrow or a crossbow without a hunting license 05570'98 TMV 2 1 while at or going to and from a recognized rifle or target range, 2 trap, or skeet shooting ground, or archery range.if3 (2) SUBJECT TO SUBSECTION (3), A PERSON MAY TRANSPORT A 4 FIREARM WITHOUT A HUNTING LICENSE AT ANY TIME. 5 (3) SUBSECTIONS (1) AND (2) DO NOT APPLY UNLESS the firearm 6 or bow and arrow or crossbow, while being carried,ortrans- 7 ported, OR POSSESSED, is as follows: 8 (a) The firearm is unloaded in both barrel and magazine and 9 either enclosed in a case or carried in the trunk of a vehicle. 10 (b) The bow or crossbow is unstrung, enclosed in a case, or 11 carried in the trunk of a vehicle. 12 Enacting section 1.
