A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 4114 AS INTRODUCED 2-2-99


The bill would amend the Legislative Council Act to require that each bill drafted by the Legislative Service Bureau contain a statement specifying the legislative intent of the bill. The statement would have to be incorporated into the substantive provisions of the bill.


The bill would further require that if either house passed an amendment or substituted version of the bill, the statement of intent would have to be amended accordingly.
