A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 4398 AS INTRODUCED 3-9-99


The Michigan Vehicle Code specifies that the registration tax for a van owned by a person who uses a wheelchair or by a person who transports a resident of his or her household who uses a wheelchair is reduced by 50 percent. House Bill 4398 would extend the discount to all vehicles used for this purpose, rather than only to vans.
