A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 5264 AS INTRODUCED 2-2-00


House Bill 5264 would designate the part of highway M-33 that is located in Ogemaw and Oscoda counties between Houghton Creek road and Miller road as the "Veterans' Memorial Highway." The bill would require the state transportation department to erect suitable markers indicating the name of the highway at the approach of the part described when one or both of the following occur: a) the department erects new signs to replace old signs in the course of ordinary maintenance, or b) sufficient private contributions are received to pay the cost of erecting the markers.
