A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 5462 AS INTRODUCED 2-29-00



House Bill 5462 would amend the Revised School Code to specify that the board of a school district, local act school district, or intermediate school district, or the board of directors of a public school academy (more customarily called a charter school), could operate all-male or all-female classes in mathematics and science for students who are in grades 6, 7, or 8. If the boards did so, they would have to offer the same class with the same content to both male and female students.
