Items Included by the Senate and House
1. The Senate and House eliminated certain FY 1999-2000 boilerplate sections, including sections requiring internal audit reports requiring a Year 2000 computer report, a report of concealed weapon licensing cost, a report on Internet crime unit feasibility, and a requirement to post a sign at closed weigh stations.
2. Truck Safety Study. The Senate and House added language for a $50,000 logging truck safety study. (Sec. 402)

3. School Violence Hotline. The House added language requiring a hotline. The Senate did not. The Conference Committee concurred with the House. (Sec. 221)
4. Firearms Safety and Awareness. The House added language requiring a K-12 gun safety curriculum. The Senate did not. The Conference Committee concurred with the House. (Sec. 906)
5. Gun Law Enforcement. The Senate, but not the House, added language requiring the training curriculum of Michigan State Troopers, police officers in the State, and in-service training of law enforcement personnel to include training on Federal firearms laws and how to turn violators over to the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms. The Conference Committee concurred with the Senate. (Sec. 703)
6. Hand Gun Permit Study. The Senate, but not the House, added language requiring a statistical study of the frequency and reasons why hand gun permit applications are rejected in the State. The Conference Committee concurred with the Senate.
7. Computer Crime Grants. The Senate, but not the House, added language that authorizes $300,000 to be used for computer crime fighting grants to local law enforcement agencies. The Conference Committee concurred with the House.
8. School Bus Inspections. The Senate, but not the House, added language requiring the School Bus Inspection Program to award certificates to school systems whose school buses all received a 100% successful safety inspection on the first try. 9. Sex Offender Website. The Senate, but not the House, added language requiring enforcement of sex offender registry act. The Conference Committee concurred with the Senate. (Sec. 215)
