        A bill to protect and promote children's health; and to

   establish certain eligibility criteria for the MIChild funds.

               THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 1         Sec. 1.  This act shall be known and may be cited as the

 2    "MIChild program act".

 3         Sec. 2.  As used in this act, "MIChild program " means the

 4    MIChild program created in 1998 PA 336.

 5         Sec. 3.  In addition to other eligibility criteria estab-

 6    lished for the MIChild program, a child under age 19 is eligible

 7    if the child resides in a family with income at or below 250% of

 8    the federal poverty level.
