     October 5, 1999, Introduced by Reps. Neumann, Bovin, Brewer, Gieleghem, Pestka,
Schauer, Sheltrown, Dennis, Wojno, DeHart, Thomas, Daniels and Quarles and referred to the
Committee on Transportation.


        A bill to designate the part of highway M-32 located between

   Ripley boulevard and Bagley street in the city of Alpena as the

   "Veterans Memorial Highway"; and to prescribe the duties of the

   state transportation department.

               THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 1         Sec. 1.  The part of highway M-32 located between Ripley

 2    boulevard and Bagley street in the city of Alpena shall be known

 3    as the "Veterans Memorial Highway".

 4         Sec. 2.  The state transportation department shall only pro-

 5    vide for the erection of suitable markers at the approach to the

 6    part of the highway described in section 1 when sufficient pri-

 7    vate contributions are received to pay the cost of erecting the

 8    markers.
