        A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled

   "Public health code,"

   by amending section 2661 (MCL 333.2661).

               THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 1         Sec. 2661.  The medical superintendent of a state institu-

 2    tion for mentally  diseased  ILL persons or the
             general superin-

 3    tendent of the Wayne county general hospital,  and
             infirmary, 

 4    who controls an unclaimed body  which  THAT is
             required to be

 5    delivered to the anatomy board, may direct the performance of an

 6    autopsy upon the body by a medical officer of the institution for

 7    the sole purpose of the study of mental  diseases 
             ILLNESS and

 8    the advancement of the RELATED science.  relating thereto.
              Upon

 9    completion of the autopsy, the INSTITUTION SHALL DISPOSE OF THE

10    unclaimed body  shall be disposed of  in the same
             manner as any

11    other unclaimed body in accordance with this part.

 1         Enacting section 1.  This amendatory act does not take

 2    effect unless all of the following bills of the 90th Legislature

 3    are enacted into law.
