        A bill to designate the part of highway I-69 that is located

   between exit 94 and exit 105 as the "Purple Heart Highway"; and

   to prescribe the duties of the state transportation department.

               THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 1         Sec. 1.  The part of highway I-69 that is located between

 2    exit 94 and exit 105 shall be known as the "Purple Heart

 3    Highway".

 4         Sec. 2.  The state transportation department shall only pro-

 5    vide for the erection of suitable markers, which identify the

 6    name of that part of the highway at the approaches to the part of

 7    the highway described in section 1 when sufficient private con-

 8    tributions are received to pay the cost of erecting those

 9    markers.
