        A bill to amend 1941 PA 207, entitled

   "Fire prevention code,"

   by amending section 6 (MCL 29.6).

               THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

           Sec. 6.  (1) The state fire marshal may investigate and

 2
      inquire into the cause or origin of a fire occurring in this

 3
      state resulting in THE loss of life or damage to property  ,  and

 4
      for  that purpose  THOSE PURPOSES may enter, without restraint or

 5
      liability for trespass, a building or premises and inspect the

 6
      building or premises and the contents and occupancies of the

 7
      building or premises.

 8
           (2) THE STATE FIRE MARSHAL SHALL INVESTIGATE AND PREPARE A

 9
      REPORT OF THE INVESTIGATION WHERE A DEMONSTRATION FIRE RESULTS IN

      THE INJURY OR DEATH OF AN INDIVIDUAL WHO IS NOT A FIREFIGHTER.

      AS USED IN THIS SUBSECTION, "DEMONSTRATION FIRE" MEANS A FIRE
