        A bill to amend 1994 PA 451, entitled

   "Natural resources and environmental protection act,"

   (MCL 324.101 to 324.90106) by adding section 40113b.

               THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 1         SEC. 40113B.  THE DEPARTMENT AND COMMISSION SHALL UTILIZE

 2    LAWFUL HUNTING BY LICENSED MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC AS THE PREFERRED

 3    METHOD OF REDUCING GAME POPULATIONS UNLESS THE HEALTH, SAFETY, OR

 4    WELFARE OF THE PUBLIC REQUIRES THAT A DIFFERENT METHOD BE

 5    UTILIZED.
