A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 4041 AS INTRODUCED 1-25-01

The Revised Judicature Act specifies certain time limitations on legal actions, including, among others, actions to recover damages for breaches of contracts, fiduciary bonds, deeds, mortgages, surety or appeal bonds, and public obligations. Unless otherwise specified, the period of limitations to recover damages or sums due for breach of contract is six years. The bill would amend the act to add a new provision to limit to two years actions to collect fees for services provided by attorneys.
