A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 4106 AS INTRODUCED 1-31-01

The bill would amend Public Act 2 of 1867, which concerns the powers and duties of county sheriffs, to require a sheriff to take two sets of fingerprints of an applicant for employment, a volunteer, or an independent contractor for a nursing home, county medical care facility, or home for the aged, upon the request of the individual. The fingerprints would be taken on forms furnished by the Department of State Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. A sheriff could charge a fee not exceeding the actual cost of taking and processing the fingerprints.
