A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 4730 AS INTRODUCED 5-3-01

The bill would amend the General Sales Tax Act to specify that 25 percent of the first four cents of the sales tax imposed on the sale of snowmobiles, but not more than $6 million annually, be deposited in the Recreational Snowmobile Trail Improvement Fund for use solely in the building and maintaining of snowmobile trails. The bill would apply to the fiscal year ending September 30, 2002 and each fiscal year thereafter.
