A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 4884 AS INTRODUCED 6-5-01

House Bill 4884 would amend the Michigan Vehicle Code to allow flashing or alternating high beam lights, commonly know as wigwag lights, to be used on a state, county, or municipal vehicle engaged in the removal or control of ice, snow, or other material from the highway. Currently the law requires flashing, rotating, or oscillating amber lights, placed in a position as to be visible throughout an arc of 360 degrees. The bill would retain this provision and also allow the use of so-called "wigwag" lights.
