A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 5134 AS INTRODUCED 10-2-01

House Bill 5134 would amend the Michigan Vehicle Code to specify that if there were a fatality at a railroad grade crossing in a county, city, village, or township with a population of 60,000 or more, then the Department of Transportation would be required to undertake a diagnostic review within 120 days. Currently under the law the diagnostic review is required only when the fatality occurs in a city having 60,000 or more people.
