A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 5793 AS INTRODUCED 3-13-02
House Bill 5793 would amend the Revised School Code to require that the majority of the members of a school district's reproductive health advisory board be parents of students enrolled in the school district.
Currently the law requires that a reproductive health advisory board be established to periodically review the materials and methods of instruction used, and to make recommendations to the district, regarding changes in the materials or methods of instruction. Under the law the advisory board must consist of parents having children attending the district's school, students in the district's schools, educators, local clergy, and community health professionals.
