A bill to allow an employee to display the American flag in his or her work area. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT: 1 Sec. 1. As used in this act: 2 (a) "Employ" means to engage or permit to work. 3 (b) "Employee" means an individual employed by an employer. 4 (c) "Employer" means an individual, sole proprietorship, 5 partnership, association, or corporation, public or private; this 6 state or an agency of this state; a city, county, village, town- 7 ship, school district, or intermediate school district; an insti- 8 tution of higher education; or an individual acting directly or 9 indirectly in the interest of the employer who employs 1 or more 10 individuals. 11 (d) "Safety hazard" means that in the judgment of the 12 employer there is a violation, or a condition that may cause a 05560'01 LAJ 2 1 violation, of the Michigan occupational safety and health act, 2 1974 PA 154, MCL 408.1001 to 408.1094. 3 Sec. 2.
