A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 4320 AS INTRODUCED 3-11-03

House Bill 4320 would amend the Michigan Telecommunications Act to require service providers to provide certain information to the Department of State Police, upon the department's request. Specifically, a basic local exchange provider would have to give the state police the name, address, and telephone number of a customer with an unlisted phone number. Also, upon a request based on an identified paging, cellular, mobile, or answering service number, a service provider would have to give the state police the customer's name and address.
