A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 4329 AS INTRODUCED 3-12-03

The Michigan Penal Code makes it a crime to use the Internet or a computer, computer program, computer system, or computer network to communicate with any other person for the purpose of committing, attempting or conspiring to commit, or soliciting another person to commit specified crimes; for instance, certain sex crimes involving a minor, stalking, and using explosives to kill others. The bill would amend this provision to also prohibit committing, attempting to commit, conspiring to commit, or soliciting another person to commit any property damage or destruction.
