A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 6272 AS INTRODUCED 9-29-04

The bill would amend Part 401 (Wildlife Conservation) of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act to require that the Department of Natural Resources and the Natural Resources Commission, in regulating the taking of game in the state, to preserve and promote the "heritage of recreational hunting" in the state, and to allow them to promote legislation to classify animals as game or to declare the first open season for game.

FISCAL IMPACT:

There would be no increased appropriation requirement if this bill is enacted.  There would be no fiscal impact on local governmental units.
