A bill to designate February 6 of each year as Ronald Wilson
Reagan Day in the state of Michigan.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
1 Sec. 1. (1) The legislature recognizes the lasting
2 accomplishments of America's fortieth president, Ronald Wilson
3 Reagan, whose enthusiasm, conviction, personal charm, and wit
4 deemed him acknowledgement as one of America's most popular and
5 influential presidents. The power of his ideas and his ability
6 to cross partisan lines to unite people behind a common agenda
7 focused on economic and political freedom allowed him to impact
8 people's lives here in Michigan, across the county he loved so
9 much, and around the world. In commemoration of the significant
10 role President Ronald Reagan played in the history of this
11 nation, the legislature declares that February 6 of each year
12 shall be known as "Ronald Wilson Reagan Day".
1 (2) The legislature encourages each individual in this state
2 to pause on Ronald Wilson Reagan Day and reflect upon the
3 significance of President Ronald Reagan's leadership and
4 important contributions to the history of the state of Michigan
5 and to the history of this great nation.
