A bill to amend 1986 PA 268, entitled
"Legislative council act,"
(MCL 4.1101 to 4.1901) by adding sections 502 and 602.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
1 Sec. 502. Upon the introduction of each bill in the senate,
2 the director of the senate fiscal agency shall direct an employee
3 of the senate fiscal agency to prepare an impact analysis for the
4 members of the senate. The impact analysis shall contain all of
5 the following:
6 (a) Fiscal impact of the pending legislation on state and
7 local budgets.
8 (b) Fiscal impact of the pending legislation on the school
9 aid budget.
10 (c) Potential effect of the pending legislation.
11 (d) Benefit-cost analysis of the pending legislation.
1 (e) Fiscal impact of the pending legislation on the general
2 fund of this state.
3 Sec. 602. Upon the introduction of each bill in the house
4 of representatives, the director of the house fiscal agency shall
5 direct an employee of the house fiscal agency to prepare an
6 impact analysis for the members of the house of representatives.
7 The impact shall contain all of the following:
8 (a) Fiscal impact of the pending legislation on state and
9 local budgets.
10 (b) Fiscal impact of the pending legislation on the school
11 aid budget.
12 (c) Potential effect of the pending legislation.
13 (d) Benefit-cost analysis of the pending legislation.
14 (e) Fiscal impact of the pending legislation on the general
15 fund of this state.
