A bill to amend 1964 PA 283, entitled
"Weights and measures act,"
by amending section 28b (MCL 290.628b).
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
1 Sec. 28b. (1)
Whenever any If a commodity or service is
2 sold, or is offered, exposed or advertised for sale, by weight,
3 measure or count, the price shall not be misrepresented, nor
4 shall the price be represented in any manner calculated or
5 tending to mislead or deceive an actual or prospective
6 purchaser. Whenever
7 (2) If an advertised, posted, or labeled price per unit of
8 weight, measure or count includes a fraction of a cent, all
9 elements of the fraction shall be prominently displayed and the
10 numeral or numerals expressing the fraction shall be immediately
11 adjacent to, of the same general design and style as, and at
1 least 1/2 the height and width of the numerals representing the
2 whole cents.
3 (3) If the commodity offered for sale is gasoline, the sign
4 or marquee that displays the price of the gasoline to the public
5 shall contain the price of the gasoline on both the front and
6 back sides of the sign or marquee.
