House Bill 5386 (as passed by the House)
Sponsor: Representative Roger Kahn
House Committee: Tax Policy
Senate Committee: Finance

Date Completed: 1-18-06

CONTENT
The bill would amend the Use Tax Act to exempt from the use tax property sold in the State on which the transaction was subject to tax under the General Sales Tax Act. Currently, such property is exempt from the use tax if the sales tax was due and paid on the retail sale to a consumer.
