SUBSTITUTE FOR

HOUSE BILL NO. 5442

     A bill to amend 1939 PA 280, entitled

"The social welfare act,"

(MCL 400.1 to 400.119b) by adding section 57o.

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

     Sec. 57o. Not later than 90 days after the effective date of

the amendatory act that added this section, in determining a

program group member's income for continued family independence

assistance eligibility, if that member is working 20 hours or more

each week, the department shall disregard $200.00 of that member's

income as well as 50% of the remainder of that member's income if

the member is participating in work first activities.

     Enacting section 1. This amendatory act does not take effect

unless all of the following bills of the 93rd Legislature are

enacted into law:

     (a) House Bill No. 5438.

     (b) House Bill No. 5439.

     (c) House Bill No. 5440.

     (d) House Bill No. 5441.

     (e) House Bill No. 5443.

     (f) House Bill No. 5444.

     (g) House Bill No. 5445.

     (h) House Bill No. 5446.
