     A bill to amend 1949 PA 300, entitled

 

"Michigan vehicle code,"

 

by amending section 629d (MCL 257.629d), as added by 1987 PA 154;

 

and to repeal acts and parts of acts.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 629d. (1) The legislature shall establish a highway

 

safety task force to study the effects of the amendatory act that

 

added this section and enforcement efforts that may be required as

 

a result of its implementation. Five members of the task force

 

shall be appointed by the speaker of the house of representatives

 

and 5 members shall be appointed by the senate majority leader. The

 

director of the department of state police, the director of the

 

department of transportation, and the secretary of state shall

 


serve as ex officio members. The task force shall report its

 

findings to the legislature no later than December 31, 1988.

 

     (2) The highway safety task force established under subsection

 

(1) is abolished.

 

     Enacting section 1.  Section 629d of the Michigan vehicle

 

code, 1949 PA 300, MCL 257.629d, is repealed effective 90 days

 

after the date this amendatory act is enacted.
