A bill to amend 1931 PA 328, entitled
"The Michigan penal code,"
by amending section 170 (MCL 750.170).
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec.
170. (1) Disturbance of lawful meetings--Any A
person
who
shall not
make or excite any disturbance or contention in or
at any of the following locations:
(a)
A tavern. ,
(b) A store
or grocery. ,
(c) A manufacturing
establishment or any other business place.
or
in any
(d) A street,
lane, alley, or highway. ,
(e) A public
building, public grounds, or a
public park. ,
or
at
any
(f) An election
or other public meeting where citizens
individuals are peaceably and lawfully assembled. ,
shall be
(g) A stadium, coliseum, arena, or any other place where
individuals are gathered for a sporting event.
(2) A person who violates subsection (1) is guilty of a
misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for not more than 93 days or
a fine of not more than $500.00, or both.
(3) This section does not prohibit a person from being charged
with, convicted of, or punished for any other violation of law
committed by that person while violating or attempting to violate
this section.
