A bill to amend 1939 PA 280, entitled
"The social welfare act,"
(MCL 400.1 to 400.119b) by adding section 57m.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 57m. (1) Beginning January 6, 2006, benefits for family
independence assistance shall be paid to a recipient for not longer
than a cumulative total of 48 months during that recipient's
lifetime.
(2) The department shall reassess the recipient's eligibility
for family independence assistance not later than 24 months after
the date the application for family independence assistance has
been approved.
Enacting section 1. This amendatory act does not take effect
unless all of the following bills of the 93rd Legislature are
enacted into law:
