A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 4703 AS INTRODUCED 5-2-07

The bill would designate the northern spring peeper (pseudacris crucifer) as Michigan's official state amphibian. 

The northern spring peeper is a small frog, common in the Great Lakes region, which is among the first to breed and call in the spring.  Its "peep" can be heard on the following website:  http://www.seagrant.wisc.edu/frogs/peeper.html

FISCAL IMPACT:

This bill would have no fiscal impact on the State of Michigan.
