A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 5769 AS PASSED BY THE SENATE 12-4-2008
The bill would amend the Renewable Fuels Commission Act to delay its sunset date and to require a report on specified topics.
Extend sunset. The act is currently set to expire on January 1, 2010. The bill would extend it until January 1, 2012.
Report. In addition to its current duties, the Renewable Fuels
Commission would be required to report on the condition of the alternative
fuels industry in Michigan:
· The source of alternative fuels sold in Michigan.
· Where alternative fuels producers located in Michigan sell their fuels.
· The industry's impact on Michigan's economy and environment.

The bill would have no apparent fiscal impact.
