CONTENT
The bill would amend Public Act 3 of 1939, the Public Service Commission law, to specify that if an electric utility provided a residential electric rate discount program to eligible senior citizens, the program could not establish variable rates that required a participating senior citizen to pay a higher rate for service that exceeded a designated amount of electric service.


Under Public Act 3, "eligible senior citizen customer" means a utility or supplier customer who is at least 65 years old and who advises the utility of his or her eligibility.
