A bill to amend 1939 PA 280, entitled
"The social welfare act,"
(MCL 400.1 to 400.119b) by adding section 74c.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 74c. A day care aide or relative care provider enrolled
by the department and receiving a child care subsidy from the
department shall not provide child care for more than 4 children [for
whom the aide or provider receives a child care subsidy from the department] at
any 1 time, except that the department has the authority to grant
exceptions for sibling groups from the maximum of 4 children but
not for more than 6 children [for whom the aide or provider receives a
child care subsidy from the department] at 1 time.
Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect January
1, 2009.
