HOUSE SUBSTITUTE FOR

SENATE BILL NO. 395

     A bill to amend 1986 PA 268, entitled

"Legislative council act,"

(MCL 4.1101 to 4.1901) by adding section 783.

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

     Sec. 783. In addition to the report required under section

782, not later than December 1, 2009, the commission shall report

to each house of the legislature recommendations on how to

consolidate, streamline, or eliminate funded and unfunded mandates

and reporting requirements imposed on local units of government in

state law.

     Enacting section 1. This amendatory act does not take effect

unless all of the following bills of the 94th Legislature are

enacted into law:

     (a) House Bill No. 5194.

     (b) House Bill No. 5198.
