A bill to amend 2000 PA 92, entitled
"Food law of 2000,"
(MCL 289.1101 to 289.8111) by adding section 6150.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 6150. (1) A food service establishment shall disclose, in
the manner provided for in subsection (2), whether waitstaff
employees earn the minimum wage for those earning gratuities as
described in section 7a of 1964 PA 154, MCL 408.387a.
(2) The text for the disclosure required under subsection (1)
shall meet the following requirements:
(a) On handheld menus or table tents, the text shall be
visually equivalent to at least 11-point font size or may be
visually equivalent to the font size of the menu item descriptions.
(b) The color of the text shall provide a clear contrast to
the background.
