Complete to 3-9-10
A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 5783 AS INTRODUCED 2-4-10
The bill would allow full-time college students to postpone jury duty until the end of the school year.
Currently, a person’s term of jury service may be postponed by the chief judge of the court until the end of the school year if the person is enrolled in and attending high school full time. House Bill 5783 would amend the Revised Judicature Act to also permit a chief judge to postpone a term of jury service until the end of the school year for a full-time student enrolled in and attending a college, community college, or university.
