SUBSTITUTE FOR

SENATE BILL NO. 634

A bill to amend 1976 PA 451, entitled

"The revised school code,"

(MCL 380.1 to 380.1852) by adding section 1280c.

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

Sec. 1280c. (1) Not later than January 1, 2010, the department

shall develop or adopt a model early intervention program for

pupils in grades K to 3. The model early intervention program shall

have the same goals and include the same elements as the early

intervening model program described in section 641. The department

shall make this model program available to school districts,

intermediate school districts, and public school academies.

(2) Each school district, intermediate school district, and
