A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 5867 AS INTRODUCED 9-30-14

House Bill 5867 would amend the Michigan Vehicle Code to exclude a powered wheelchair or other power-driven mobility device when being used by a disabled person from the definition of "motor vehicle."

Further, the bill would include a disabled person using a wheelchair, powered wheelchair, or other power-driven mobility device in the definition of "pedestrian."  Currently the term "pedestrian" refers to any person afoot.
