SENATE BILL No. 261

     A bill to amend 1973 PA 116, entitled

 

"An act to provide for the protection of children through the

licensing and regulation of child care organizations; to provide

for the establishment of standards of care for child care

organizations; to prescribe powers and duties of certain

departments of this state and adoption facilitators; to provide

penalties; and to repeal acts and parts of acts,"

 

(MCL 722.111 to 722.128) by adding section 3h.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 3h. (1) Beginning in the 2015-2016 school year, a child

 

care center, group child care home, or family child care home shall

 

report on its public website the immunization completion rate for

 

children in the care of the child care center, group child care

 

home, or family child care home. The information shall be

 

categorized by each vaccine listed on the department of community

 

health's recommended immunization schedule. If the child care


 

center, group child care home, or family child care home does not

 

maintain a public website, the information shall be provided to

 

parents or guardians in another public manner.

 

     (2) As used in this section, "immunization completion rate"

 

means the rate at which each child in the child care center's,

 

group child care home's, or family child care home's care has

 

received each vaccination listed on the department of community

 

health's recommended immunization schedule in a timely manner

 

according to that schedule.

 

     Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days

 

after the date it is enacted into law.
